Chris Oxspring pitched a dominant seven innings as the Somerset Patriots ended their four-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over the Camden Riversharks. The loss snaps the Riversharks seven-game winning streak and drops them two games back in the Liberty Division standings.
The game was interrupted after the end of the 7th inning due to a 48 minute rain delay.
Oxspring (3-7) was fantastic as he went the first seven innings giving up one run on five hits with eight strikeouts.
Wilkin De la Rosa was the hard-luck loser allowing just two runs in seven innings while striking out a season-high six batters.
Matt Hagen gave the Patriots the lead in the top of the 1st with a sacrifice fly that scored Joe Holden.
Noah Hall wasted no time tying up the score with an RBI single in the bottom of the 1st that plated Ruddy Yan.
Norris Hopper gave the Patriots the lead back in the 5th inning with an infield single that scored Yusuf Carter.
