Joe Holden had four hits and scored twice as the Somerset Patriots defeated the Camden Riversharks for the second straight night by the count of 7-4. The Riversharks have now lost two in a row for the first time since August 6-7.
Pulsipher (3-5) pitched the first five innings allowing just one run as he picked up his second win this season against the Riversharks.
Humberto Sanchez (1-1) had a tough outing and took the loss allowing four runs on five hits and four walks.
Somerset scored in the 1st inning for the second consecutive night. Elliot Ayala brought home the game’s first run with a sacrifice fly and later in the inning Michael Hernandez drew a bases-loaded walk to give the Patriots a 2-0 lead.
Alvin Colina cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the 1st with an RBI double that plated Lloyd Turner.
Joe Holden pushed the Pats lead back to two runs in the 2nd inning with an RBI single that scored Daniel DeGeorge.
Alvin Colina brought Camden within a run once again in the 6th inning when he launched a two-run home run, his 10th of the year, to make it 4-3.
The Patriots came up with two huge insurance runs in the top of the 8th highlighted by a two-out, RBI single by Jeff Nettles that extended the lead to 6-3.
