High Hopes

The Southern Maryland BlueCrabs held on to beat the Long Island Ducks tonight 13-10. With the Ducks loss and Camden's win, the RiverSharks move to within two games of first place in the Liberty Division. The Sharks are 12-7 in August and have won six straight!

Coming into the home stretch of the 2011 season, every game becomes crucial. I honestly believe the Sharks have a legitimate chance to with their division, they're playing better than they have all year. MLB pickups have hurt the lineup, but Von Hayes, Jeff Scott and Kevin Wilson have done a fantastic job making the best of what they've got. It ought to be an interesting finish.

  1. Hey,

Wow have to say this blog is AWSOME! I have been a follower of the Riversharks since my first game (and my 2nd baseball game of my life) on June 24 of this year. After one Sharks game I've been hooked. Any way I was wondering if you know whats going on with Danny Richar. He left Sundays game early (I think first or second inning) and he hasn't been in the lineup since. They seem to be handling the situation quite well by moving Burgamy to third and placing Toby Hall on first (@ the last game). Danny didn't seem himself when I saw him at Saturdays double header (which I left with 3 game jerseys from the auction if I might add :D). Welp, love your blog... GO SHARKS!

  2. According to Sharks hitting coach Kevin Wilson, Danny is day to day. He was in uniform for tonight's game and coached 1st for an inning.

  3. I feel the same. It is great how the last 30 games has gone. Inspite of the pro guys alot of credit goes to the core team players Noah Hall, Lloyd Turner, JR Mathes, Juan Francia. All the games are big wheather it is RW or LI and don't count out the bluecrabs yet.
