Sharks Drop Second Straight

Miguel Martinez pitched effectively into the 7th inning as the Road Warriors knocked off the Camden Riversharks by the final count of 8-3. Camden has now dropped two straight and five of their last eight.

Martinez (5-8) gave up two runs (one earned) on just four hits in 6.1 innings to pick up his first win since May 26th.

Danny Gonzalez gave the Road Warriors a 2-0 lead in the opening frame with a two-run home run, his 2nd of the season.

Alvin Colina cut the ‘Sharks deficit in half in the 2nd inning as he launched his 7th home run of the season, a solo shot, to make it 2-1.

The Road Warriors added three more runs in the top of the 4th against Towers to increase their lead to 5-1. After Alberto Cruz hit a two-run home run, Marcos Cabral lined a two-out, RBI single to plate Adrian Ortiz and give the Road Warriors a four-run lead.

Towers (5-6) allowed six earned runs on ten hits in just five innings of work as he took his first loss since July 17th.

In other notable news from tonight’s game, Pedro Feliz had his season-long 15-game hitting streak snapped as he was 0-for-3 with a walk.
