Sharks Routed By Patriots

Derrick Gordon pitched seven innings and the Patriots hit three home runs en route to a 10-2 victory over the Camden Riversharks. The loss snaps the Riversharks’ season-best four-game winning streak.

Gordon (4-0) allowed just one run in seven innings on seven hits while striking out seven batters. He is now 2-0 against the Riversharks this season.

The Riversharks scored the games’ first run in the top of the 1st when Pedro Feliz drove in Juan Francia with an RBI single.

Somerset struck right back in the bottom of the 1st against ‘Sharks starter Yorman Bazardo. After Michael Hernandez tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI double, Josh Pressley hit a two-run double to left-center field to give the Patriots a 3-1 lead.

Hernandez finished the game 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs.

In his first start in a Riversharks uniform, Bazardo (0-1) lasted just two innings surrendering three runs on four hits while striking out two batters.

The Patriots blew it open in the middle innings as they scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th highlighted by a two-run error by Juan Francia to make it 7-1 Somerset.

Somerset put the game out of reach in the bottom of the 7th when Josh Pressley, Jeff Nettles, and Justin Huber hit back-to-back-to-back solo home runs off ‘Sharks reliever Mumba Rivera to give the Patriots a 10-1 lead.
