The Camden Riversharks swept a double header over the Somerset Patriots on a rain soaked Friday at Campbell’s Field.
The Sharks (17-18) took game one with a 9-6 victory. Chris Walker hit his first home run of the season and Eduardo Perez drove in a pair to lead the Camden attack. Ricky Brooks (2-0) shut down the Patriots (15-20) for 6.2 innings, allowing just one earned run on five hits while striking out five against the team that cut him in the preseason.
Game two, the Sharks stormed out to eight straight runs, scoring in each of the first four innings. Walker added his second homer of the season and Marquez Smith jumped on the long ball train with his first as well. After an hour rain delay, the Patriots put up a five spot in the fifth and added another in the seventh to make it close, but Jason Bergmann shut them down in the ninth to pick up his first save of the season. The Sharks have now won four in a row for the first time this season.
