Wilkin De La Rosa Signs With Cincinnati Reds

By

The Cincinnati Reds signed former Camden Riversharks’ starting pitcher Wilkin de la Rosa last week, according to a report on baseballamerica.com.

It’s unclear if Rosa was assigned to the minor leagues, but it’s most likely where the lefthander will start considering he has spent all five of his pro seasons in the minor leagues.

Rosa is a former New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers prospect who signed on with Camden in early August last season. It marked his first time playing in independent ball.
He went on to post a 3-2 record with a 2.41 ERA in seven starts for the Riversharks. Rosa’s very first start for Camden came at York on Aug. 11, when he held the Revs scoreless on one hit in three innings of work.

De La Rosa, who turns 27 in February, has a career 24-17 record and 3.15 ERA.
